Upgrade your 1.4T's cooling system with our ZZPerformance aluminum thermostat housing and thermostat. The 1.4T engine suffers from the cheap plastic accessories that GM used during initial assembly, both in reliability and cooling performance; our thermostat housing addresses both of those issues. Not only do the stock plastic units crack and fail, the stock opening temperature of the OEM thermostat is between 217° and 221°. Our thermostat housing is made fully from aluminum so you never have to worry about those pesky cracks again, but it also features a lower opening temperature of the thermostat coming in at 206°.

Fits: Chevy Sonic, 2011-2016 Chevy Cruze, 2013-2021 Chevy Trax, 2013-2021 Buick Encore. Does not fit 1.8L engine or 2016.5+ 1.4T Chevy Cruze.
Installation note: With the aluminum thermostat if it does not see the proper resistance (air bubbles/pockets being trapped in) it will throw a P0597 or P0598 code. To fix this we have found the best way to bleed the system is to unbolt the reservoir, fill the reservoir, and hold it above the engine until you couldn't see any bubbles. We recommend 20-30 minutes of this bleeding process. The car will need to be running for this. And then with 3-4 drive cycles, the codes should go away.
